It is a very important and efficient catalyst in chemical production and is widely used in condensation reactions, polyurethane foaming catalysis, pesticide synthesis and electroplating industries.

Triethylenediamine is an important chemical raw material. It is used as a catalyst for polyurethane and also as an oil additive. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor in boiler water treatment, a catalyst for polyurethane foaming and polymerization, an accelerator for epoxy resin curing, and a catalyst for acrylonitrile, ethylene and ethylene oxide. It is a non-nucleophilic base, a reagent for splitting β-keto esters and geminal diesters and dehydrohalogenation reactions, and forms complexes with organic magnesium, lithium, and zinc compounds to increase activity and participate in many reaction preparations.
