Methacrylic acid is an important organic chemical raw material and polymer intermediate. Its most important derivative product, methyl methacrylate, can be used to produce organic glass for windows of airplanes and civil buildings, and can also be processed into buttons, sun filters and car light lenses, etc. The coating produced has excellent suspension, rheological and durability properties; the adhesive made can be used for bonding metals, leather, plastics and building materials; it can be used to manufacture resins and plastics, high molecular polymers, and esters; methacrylate polymer emulsions are used as fabric finishing agents and antistatic agents.
