Pure ethyl acetate is a colorless, transparent, aromatic liquid with a strong ether-like smell, a clear, slightly fruity wine aroma, easy to diffuse, and not lasting. It is slightly soluble in water, and soluble in most organic solvents such as alcohol, ketone, ether, and chloroform.
